Parents/ guardians, tomorrow 9/1/2017 I will be sending home the blue folder that contains student grades. Inside the folder will be a retest that I gave students. Please review the papers sent home and sign off on the sheet inside before returning it on Tuesday.
Next week Wednesday, students will be sent home with a progress report that will list their overall grade at this point. This is the checking in period to see where your child is currently at now that they have a couple grades under their belts. I hope do hope you all have a great weekend :D

Math- Students will work on page 55-60 from their MyMath book
Spelling- Write all your words in sentences Reading-- Study human rights that were talked and notated about today. Be able to answer the question, "What are human rights and why are they important? " Social Studies-- Finish labeling all the states on the map glued into your social studies notebook. Parents/ guardians, tomorrow will be our first early release day for the year. School will be finished at 12:30.
Math- students will complete the independent page from today and the homework page from their MyMath books.( pages 23-28 )
Spelling- continue to rewrite the words 5 times. use the suffix not used yesterday (- ness, -full, or -less) Social Studies: Read pages 1866-187. using the Venn diagram created in class, compare and contrast for life is different for the North and the South. Math-- page 47 and 48 from My math.
** Today students were introduced to decimals for the first time. have students use their notebooks and textbooks to help with the HW. Spelling--- write the words ending in -ness, and ful 5 times. Social Studies:--RETEST TOMORROW. Students must review their notes, vocabulary, chapter summaries, events of the civil war, and textbooks. The test will be given during the time before school starts. 7:15-7:50 TESTS, TESTS, and TESTS tomorrow. Reading--
* Have all words about human rights defined in your notebook. * Read the articles on human rights, and reread the passage titled, "What are human rights" * Your test tomorrow will be on the vocabulary words, prefixes, and your explanation on what human rights are. You must use some vocabulary words in your explanation. Math-- * complete the worksheet on long division. practice area model, partial quotient, or long division. you can choose what strategy you want to use on the assessment Spelling-- * sort 4 words test is tomorrow Social Studies-- * Civil War quiz is tomorrow. use notebooks, notes, chapter summaries to review materials. this is our second week on the civil war. look at 190-193 for info on William T. Sherman. ** IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO STUDY AND REVIEW MATERIALS DURING THE WEEK. HOW WELL PREPARED ARE YOU ON A SCALE OF 1-10? WHAT WILL YOU DO DIFFERENTLY? Math-- finish division page. must show work.
Reading-- Paraphrase article 3 from Declaration of Human Rights. draw a picture of an example and a non-example. ** finish defining words (all papers located in reading NB) Spelling: Test on Friday. Study words Social Studies-- Civil war test on Friday. Study all learned information. Read chapter summary page and highlight/circle/underline answers in text. Math: page 165 numbers 2-6 and 197 number 2-8 from MyMath Book. Use note in NB if having trouble.
Spelling: Use 1/2 of your words and write them in sentences. Social Studies: Read pages 164-169 from social studies textbook. Answer all 7 questions on the bottom of page 169 Math-- Create 10 multiplication problems and solve them using the standard algorithm
Spelling-- study your spelling words by writing them down Social Studies/ Reading-- Read the text book on the under ground railroad and finish filling in the blanks on the graphic organizer glued into your social studies notebooks. Math--- 129 to 130. finish 127 independent work if not finished during class time
