Parents, we are running low in glue sticks. We use glue daily and our supply is almost gone. If you can help out with school supplies that would be highly appreciated.
Christmas is coming up, instead of glue we could use tape instead (the same tape that you buy in bundles for wrapping Christmas gifts). With the tape, just place the tape in a zip lock bag with your child's name on it. Thank you for your support in order for us to be successful in the classroom. --Mr. Tromp

Monday:
Math- 2 problems on homework page that was handed out. if lost, it is page 769 from Mymath *** review past concept (powers of ten and exponents) Spelling- write your words side by side 3 times (base word--- changed word with suffix) Reading **** read page 1 and 2 from MLK's, "I have a Dream...". come prepared to talk about the meaning and the metaphors. Social Studies: Chapter 10 lessons 1 & 2. W have been teaching about the 1920's, students will be tested on the changes that happened in the 20's and influential people. The text book contains information that we talked about. It must be read by the end of the week. Parents: Blue folders when home today with graded work. You should have several tests to review with your children.
Field Trip form went home too. Please return signed forms on Monday. All money gets placed in your children account for our field trips this year. No school next Tuesday: Teacher work day. Math: Review old concepts. (place value, orders of operations, etc...) Spelling: none Reading: Read all of chapter 13 from Esperanza Rising. pages 214-233 MUST DO!!!!!!! Writing: Have information (research) printed on your topic to use in your writing. Social Studies: None. We will start WWI next week. Use notebooks and review past concepts. Refresh your memory on what we learned. Math- pages 727 and 728 from Mymath
Spelling: Study words for assessment on Friday Reading: pages 201 to 206 from Esperanza Rising ** MUST FINISH QUIZ DURING AM TIME TOMORROW! Writing: continue to do more research on your topic. have notes and resources with you or printed. Students you need to start putting notes in your own words in your writing. All students by this time should have a topic. and a brain storm of your main ideas and supporting details. Social Studies: we have begun discussing immigration. Have read pages 266 to 269 read. It reviews everything we have talked about over the last couple days. MORE EFFORT NEEDS TO BE PUT INTO SOCIAL STUDIES. Congrats on those students who made A's and B's on our last social studies assessment. |
