Spelling: work on sort sheet that began in class. If you glued it wrong in class, just rewrite on the back of the sheet. ** sort based on the root word before the spelling change, Writing- Begin to rewrite your draft on your small moment story. I am looking for the different paragraphs and neatness. Reading- in class you read independently 32-38 from Esperanza Rising. answer the 3 following questions 1. How do you feel about the uncles? 2. How did Esperanza respond to the uncles after her fathers death? 3, Why are the uncles an issue for everyone? (esperanza and her family, the servants) Science- Mountain age probe, which mountain is higher, how do you know?

Math- Students will complete a multiplying decimals with the standard algorithm worksheet.
Spelling- Write you spelling words 5 times each. You can work on half of the words Reading- All students took home the book titled, "Esperanza Rising" they need to read pages 23-29. Students have questions glued into their reading notebooks. Please check that it is completed. Science- Students must read from their science textbooks pages 80-81. We are now looking at constructive and destructive forces. (weathering, erosion, and depositions) ** ALL FINISHED WITH IOWA TESTING :D Tomorrow will be our last day for Iowa testing :D :D :D. tomorrows tests will be on Science and Social Studies. Again, please make sure students are getting a great nights rest, and are having breakfast each morning.
Picture Day: Because of the days we missed last week, our picture day has be rescheduled for this Friday. I will send a flier home to remind on Thursday. Please have your students dress to impress this Friday 9/22/2017 Math- pages 393-394 from their Mymath book.
** When multiplying decimals and using the standard algorithm, you do not need to line up the decimals, just multiply as if they are whole numbers. Once you have your product, place the decimals in the correct place (tenth x whole= tenth, tenth x tenth= hundredth etc...) Spelling: look up words in the student resources section under words their way. we are on sort 8: adding -ion (drop e and spelling change) Science: Read pages 78-81 from your Science textbooks. we will be discussing weathering and erosion. Today I sent home students blue folders. inside the folder contains students progress reports for where they are at currently. I have been sending home the blue folders containing all grades thus far, and have communicated with all parents who indicated a conference. Please sign the sheet in the folder notating you received the progress report. You can keep the progress report for your records. This is just the check point, a snap shot of where they are right now. If you would like to conference with me, please indicate in the blue folder and write a note and I will get in contact with you as soon as possible. There is still time to improve. Please discuss with your children the importance of studying, participating, and working hard. Congrats to all those students who are on track for honor roll and principals list. Keep working hard. Math- students are to work in their MyMath books on pages 329-334 on adding decimals with models. Students do have their notebooks to use as a resource. Notebook need to go home everyday.
Spelling- Students will work on a cut and sort on their spelling sort 6. Social Studies: Our unit test is on Friday. On Tuesday 9/5/17, all students were given a studyy guide to complete. everything on the study guide will be on th test in some shape or form. We have worked on the civil war for the last 3 weeks of school. All the information should at this time be ingrained in students minds. Also, students need to finish the sheet on share cropping. The passage needed for the assignment is already glued in their social studies notebooks. |
