Students need a lead paragraph, and 2 body paragraphs. Each body paragraph students are suppose to use the Oreo strategy. *** This should be done, or close to done as it was done in class today Reading: Have your packet complete for the book titled, The Butterfly by Patricia Pollaco. You can Youtube the book if you need a refresher for your homework. Social Studies: you should have had pages 378- 330 read already. Just study your notebooks and be ready to work on a study guide tomorrow.

5 more mondays until spring break Math: Today we bagan looking at volume for the first time. There is no homework for today, but expect some tomorrow
Spelling: we are on sort 24, you can get access to in in our resource tab. Students must practicce the words at home today bu writing them out. Writing: No homework Reading: students must have questions 1-9 answered from the packet I handed out today. We are reading the book titled, "Butterfly" from the author Patricia Pollaco. You can look it up on youtube. we read about a 1/3 of the book today. We will continue on the story arc tomorrow, as well as answering additional questions. We will be tested on this book on Wednesday so we can begin another book about WWII. Social Studies: Students must read pages 378& 379. we are still on WWII and have now begun discussing Iwo Jima and the USA's advances in the Pacific. We will have our unit test on Friday. Monday: Students were given a study guide for their unit test tomorrow on conversions.
Spelling: Study words for test. test may be tomorrow or on Friday. Writing: reread article about school and write what the three reasons are that the author used to prove his point. Reading: Answer the opinion question from the reading packet. FAT response. Flip the question and asnwer in your own words what you believe based on information that you have read. Social Studies: Finish worksheet that is glued in notebooks on Rosie the Riveter. +++ dont for get your food diaries, it will be an extra credit grade at the end of the week. Attached here are the answers to the math study guide that was given to students today. Big unit test tomorrow. Dress to impress! tomorrow we will be having our spring pictures taken. Forms were sent home last week, and an additional form was sent home today.
Math: Work sheet on conversions of capacity using customary units of measure. Spelling: Write your words 5 times. Writing: work on your body paragraph. Students need a topic sentence, and they need to support their opinion with information. Reading: Students must have day 1 of the weekly packet done by tomorrow after breakfast. Students who did not finish the page in class, must come in and finish the sheet for morning work. At the end of the week we will have a reading assessment on the pages that we read this week. Social Studies: Please have pages 370-373 read about WWII. ** The count don to mile stones has begun. Please be revieing informaion for math, science, and social studies. MATH FACTS MATH FACTS MATH FACTS Progress reports went home on Friday 2/9/2018. Progress reports must be signed and returned on Monday. For those students who did not turn in a field trip form, an additional form was attached to the progress report.
Parents, progress reports is the communication for you to see where your child is at this time. This is the time where we have enough grades in the system to see if there are any trends that need to be mended. ******* Please signup for parentvue. It is automatic access to my online grade book. As soon as a grade is entered in the grade book you will be notified. Lets get rid of the middle man, and the forgotten or lost graded work or notebooks. It is free, all you need to do is go to the front office and ask for a personal login. You can be notified each time a grade is in, or you can be notified when a grade is below what you deam unacceptabe. This is the same way grades are shown in middle school, it is great and can be used on your computers, or even your smart phones. Math: 875-876 on converting metric units
Spelling: sort 23; test on Friday Reading: Jackie Robinson packet. Due on Friday for reading grades. Books DO NOT go home. Writing: Students need to have 3 leads on 3 seperate papers. They will be considered grades. 1. What parent should get an award? 2. Chould there be chocolate milk in school? 3. SHould people have pets? Social Studies: Must have pages 360-363 read. It is all bout WWII. We will be testing next week on the subject. Notebooks and text books must be looked at daily. I have been sending home grades regulary for your viewing. Students have been keeping their blue notebooks in their desks, and when ever I pass out graded work they are putting it in the blue folder to take home.
Please check parent view weekly. As I update grades, you will be updated too. Dont let there be any surprises. You will have direct view of grades, and can be notified by text or email if a grade is below anything you consider acceptable. Progress report time is the time to get a snap shot of where your child is, as it allows there to be multiple grades (classwork, quiz, tests) to reflect their understaning. If a grade is not to your liking, notify me via email and we can set up a conference to discuss and create a plan for your child. Each lead needs to be on its own paper and should be located in their red folders. Reading/ Social Studies: Students must read pages 360-363 on WWII. Reading: Students who did not finish the page from the packet MUST finish page two tomorrow for morning work. Students are not allowed to take the book on Jackie Robinson home, and I am not allowed to publish the books pages on my Blog. I did allow students to take a picture of the pages during dismissal. But enough time was given in class. |
