Good evening parents. Can you believe that we are already headed to the second week of school? <CRAZY>
We just finished working on place value of whole numbers and the Powers of 10 in math. Please review information with your children in order to keep them fresh and so they do not forget past concepts as we move forward. Students who did not perform as well as they hoped will have the opportunity to retest next week in math. Those students will have to document and show me additional work in order for me to allow a retest. Also, it will be students responsibility to come to me for a retest. My expectations are for students to be prepared for assessments, and my goal is for your children, my students to be independent, well prepared, and to have a good work ethic. Next week we will be moving into Order of Operations which is typically difficult for students at first, but becomes a favorite very quickly. Next week is our last week on Citizenship in social studies. Students will be given a study guide on Thursday, but they must know the Bill of Rights, what Rights and Responsibilities are, the Amendment process, and more... Students should be taking home there social studies notebooks, textbook, and math notebooks home DAILY to review and study. I'm excited for this year and I hope your as pumped as I am. :D Social Studies: Students will use there text books to complete the Bill of Rights Scramble.
